Tanya started at GRID-Arendal in early 2014 as a Project Manager for Marine Ecosystem Services projects. Her core areas of work will include the current GRID projects of Blue carbon, Green economy, and TEEB for Oceans and Coasts, as well as developing other ecosystem service projects as the opportunity arises.

Previous work experience:
Tanya has over 10 years of experience in marine conservation in both academic and NGO environments on both the east and west coasts of Canada, with a focus on deep water coral, marine spatial planning and blue carbon projects. Most recently before arriving at GRID-Arendal, Tanya worked as a consultant for the Marine Planning Partnership for the North Pacific Coast (MaPP) where she provided technical expertise to the overall effort while specifically supporting the Haida Gwaii and Central Coast planning processes. During this time she also worked with several groups to develop Blue Carbon science and policy on the coast of British Columbia.
In 2010, Tanya was awarded a Kinship Conservation Fellowship; a highly prestigious international award focused on linking economics and conservation.
